To celebrate the fifth year of activity since its birth, the Glance Hotel has decided to subvert the concept of birthday by making a gift to the dearest guests. For this reason the Hotel called Antonio Aricò with the intent to create a souvenir that spoke of Florence, its history and that was a pampering for guests. Aricò's formal research, strongly linked to Mediterranean stories and roots, immediately identified the right line: to bring back to light the ancient tradition of the "Festa del Grillo" (Cricket Festival) which, since the time of the Grand Duchy, took place in the Cascine Park in Florence. It was the most eagerly awaited festival by the young Florentines because of the little cage that was given to them with a singing cricket inside, the symbol of spring and good luck charm.
